Our family-led hotel consists of three geographically opposing houses, all three of which are within a 700-metre-distance from the „Altmühlsee“ lake.
Boasting with tradition and having hosted several famous celebrities, our newly renovated, stylish and comfortable rooms in a central location await your arrival. All our houses are located within quick walking distance to Gunzenhausen town centre, as well as the Altmühlsee lake, making it as simple as possible for you to take in both nature and the pulsating life of our small town. Wonderful sandy beaches, 1500 kilometres worth of excellently signposted hiking trails, and over 800 kilometres of cycle lanes in and around Gunzenhausen lay perfect grounds for your active vacation.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our houses!

Originally built mid-16th century, our „Haus Post” has already hosted a number of famous personalities over the past centuries: in 1788, Johann Wolfgang von GOETHE and his fellow traveler Philipp Christoph Kayser spent a couple of nights here on their way back from the renowned “Italian journey”. Moreover, King Ludwig 1st of Bavaria has stayed at Haus Post. The Gunzenhausen Historical Society regularly organises guided tours via Haus Post.
Originally built in 1750, „Haus Linde“ marks the first „Arnold family tradition“ house amongst our three houses. Located on the ground floor of Haus Linde, you will find our gourmet butchers, selling homemade meat specialties as well as regional products. Our adjacent restaurant spoils your taste buds with fresh, typical Franconian specialties.
Our cosy, charming rooms (standard as well as comfort categories) on the first and second floor of Haus Linde received an overall renovation in 2014. The interiors consist of hard wood furniture and exceed a homey atmosphere. All comfort rooms in Haus Linde have their own balcony.
A small residency especially convenient for families who need their rooms to be a bit more spacious. Three large comfort family rooms, each with two bedrooms as well as terrace (or balcony, respectively) will hopefully add their bit to your family’s relaxing holiday. Moreover, Sommerhaus is home to three double rooms and has had a complete renovation makeover in 2013.
